The House and property, Basarte, was part of the Estate of Elespuru in Bakio until 1919.
Basarte is the house, which for generations has been the life and spiritual core of our mother’s family.
We, (Arantza and Maria Jose), are the last generation that was born and raised in Basarte, listening to our elders as they recounted their way of life, stories about family and ancestors to us both. They have managed to convey with satisfaction and enthusiasm Basarte’s character, adapting over time, but without losing the values of their roots and past.
The words we have heard all of our lives: Dream, Calm, Honesty, Clean Hands and Satisfaction… Words which reflect the past efforts and souls of all our ancestors, values we have retained and implement daily in our viticulture project.
This is the village where our family has lived since the beginning, Olaskoaga, This shows the dedication of our family, generation after generation, it is the culture of our land and the development of our Txakoli from grapes grown in our vineyards.
Every moment here is one of peace and relaxation, facing the walls of this village, we connect with memories, smells, tastes, and our emotions … we involve not only the walls, but the memories of the whole house and its surroundings. Still they echo the words of love and respect that we owe to the fields, placing it as the very center of our livelihood and family life.
In 2000, we decided to resume the activity that historically were the pillars of the family economy, viticulture and finally, producing our own Txakoli a few years later.
Starting with, “domestic management”, we develop our personal project, ADOS (meaning “in agreement or, “ok” in English), to our history and as a tribute to our ancestors.
It’s always a pleasure to welcome you to our house and share our experiences and memories.
